Who we are

Frontdoor Property Portal Ltd ("Frontdoor", "we") is a UK property portal. This is a demonstration build — no real personal data is collected, transmitted or sold.

The three data buckets

Frontdoor (web and mobile app) groups your data into three independent buckets, each with its own lawful basis.

  • 1. Essential — account, saved properties, saved searches, compare list, buyer position, sign-in session, in-flight forms. Lawful basis: contract — needed to deliver the service. No toggle.
  • 2. Personalisation — preferred towns, property types, price ranges, min beds, selected map layers, recently-viewed listings. Lawful basis: consent. Toggle: "Personalise my experience" (default off).
  • 3. Product analytics — screen views and named feature-usage events, with an anonymous device & session ID. Lawful basis: consent. Toggle: "Share anonymous usage data" (default off). Retention: raw events 13 months, aggregates indefinitely.

For signed-in users, your consent choices are stored against your account and apply on every device you sign in on.

What we never collect

  • Free-text search queries, offer amounts, message contents or viewing comments.
  • Device advertising identifiers (IDFA, Android ID, MAC, push tokens).
  • Precise location.

Lawful basis

Contract (to provide the service you've signed up for), legitimate interest (fraud prevention, service security), and consent (marketing, non-essential cookies).

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. In a real deployment you could exercise these by emailing privacy@frontdoor.example.
